FC Lorient Renews Interest in Moroccan Defender Jawad El-Yamiq
Moroccan international Jawad El-Yamiq remains a prime target for the leaders of FC Lorient. The defender of Valladolid, currently in the Spanish second division, could quickly become a priority for the Merlus.
The Breton team wishes to acquire the services of the 30-year-old Moroccan in order to strengthen its defense before the start of next season, reports L’Équipe, specifying that the club had expressed its interest in the experienced defender last summer, but things had not materialized.
During the previous season at Valladolid, Jawad El-Yamiq made multiple appearances, playing 25 matches and scoring one goal. With the Moroccan national team, the defender has played 11 international matches, with two goals to his name.
For now, the Merlus still have to reach an agreement with the Spanish club and buy out the two remaining years of El-Yamiq’s current contract, the same source points out.
