Liverpool Eyes West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd to Bolster Defense

Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd could join Liverpool this summer. The Reds, in search of a new boost to strengthen their defense, have targeted the Moroccan player.
The Moroccan defender arrived at West Ham just before the World Cup from Stade Rennais for an amount of 35 million euros. Despite his many injuries, his coach does not spare his praise about him. Even though he scored an own goal in the last match, Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool’s coach, thinks he would be the ideal recruit to help the club regain its defensive solidity, reports Le Matin.
Liverpool’s overwhelming defeat against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 (2-5) has also put the club on the trail of the Moroccan player. Still, he has committed to West Ham until 2027, and the blunder in favor of Manchester United is not enough to make him lose his popularity.
It is in search of defensive solidity that West Ham negotiated his transfer last summer. It will be difficult for the club to let him go.
