West Ham’s Aguerd Scores Own Goal as Man United Advances in FA Cup

While Liverpool are closely monitoring Nayef Aguerd, the Moroccan defender of West Ham made a huge blunder during the match between his club and Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
During the match between West Ham and Manchester United at Old Trafford, the Portuguese Casemiro forced Nayef Aguerd to score an own goal thanks to a well-worked corner kick in the 78th minute, allowing the Red Devils to equalize when the Hammers were leading 1-0. The match ended in a 3-1 victory for Erik Ten Hag’s men. A disappointing performance for West Ham. Certainly for Liverpool as well.
Before kick-off, Aguerd was on Liverpool’s radar, reports Goal. The Moroccan international is one of the players that Reds coach Jürgen Klopp wants to see join his squad this summer. But the Hammers have no intention of letting the 26-year-old player go, who was recruited for £30 million. They believe that the blunder against the Red Devils is an isolated case and hope to see their protégé return to his best level quickly. They also hope that Liverpool will look for their new defender elsewhere.
