Lawyer Sentenced to 2 Years for Raping Underage Secretary in Morocco

The victim lives with her mother in the vicinity of the lawyer’s office, in the commune of Jamaat Shaim. The latter offered her a job in his firm in exchange for a monthly salary of 1,500 DH, reports Assabah. The 15-year-old girl accepted the offer, unaware of the danger she was exposing herself to. Her boss imposed a sexual relationship on her in a room set up within the firm. She will be raped. The "rapist" lawyer gave her 50 DH so that she would remain silent.

The teenager eventually told her mother about the rape. The latter immediately seized the gendarmerie brigade of Jamaat Shaim. The irrefutable evidence is the medical report which notes traces of recent sexual violence and a loss of virginity. The lawyer was arrested and questioned before the deputy prosecutor general of the king near the Court of Appeal of Safi, in the presence of the bar association of Safi and certain members of the Council.

During her hearing, the victim told the investigators that she had already lost her virginity before the rape. The royal gendarmerie brigade arrested the perpetrator and brought him before the competent prosecution. As for the lawyer, he was prosecuted while on provisional release. He was sentenced to two years in prison with a fine by the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal.
