Lawmaker’s Son Among Gang Members Arrested in Casablanca Crime Crackdown

A gang of criminals was dismantled on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday by a police patrol from the Moulay Rachid district in Casablanca. The disturbing discovery was the membership of this gang of the son of a parliamentarian, not the least of the megalopolis.
According to Al Massae, this criminal gang was operating in several areas of the city, including in popular neighborhoods.
The operation of the patrol leading to the arrest of these outlaws is justified by the rise in crime in the megalopolis. Indeed, for a few days now, large security campaigns have made it possible to restore order in the economic capital, specifies the same media.
It was thus that four elements of this gang specialized in pickpocketing were arrested.
However, during the submission of the suspect to the fingerprinting operation in the database of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), it appeared that one of the elements of the gang is the son of a parliamentarian, notes the same source.
A discovery that also surprised the police elements, especially because of the notoriety of the elected representative in question.
Pending their appearance before the King’s Prosecutor, the accused were placed in custody, so that all necessary investigations could be carried out.
