Marrakech Police Arrest Two Suspects in Counterfeit Money Scheme

Two individuals aged 22 and 37 were arrested on Saturday, October 12, by elements of the Marrakech Police Prefecture. They are accused of being allegedly involved in cases of banknote forgery and attempted circulation.
Alerted by the owner of a business for the case of a commercial transaction with a counterfeit banknote, the national security services rushed to the scene.
Thanks to the investigations carried out on the ground, they proceeded to arrest the alleged accomplices in Mhamid and Sidi Youssef Ben Ali, in Marrakech, in possession of several counterfeit banknotes, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), reported by the MAP.
The same source notes that other searches carried out at the suspects’ homes allowed the seizure of a computer and a color printer, used in this criminal act.
These defendants were immediately taken into custody as part of the judicial investigation to determine the ins and outs of this case, the same media reports.
