Casablanca Bolsters Police Presence to Combat Rising Crime

The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) will send significant security reinforcements to Casablanca to fight crime. A strategy will be developed for this purpose to target the most sensitive areas, carry out prevention actions and ensure a permanent police presence on public roads.
The recent acts of crime have prompted the authorities of the economic capital to react. In this regard, Casablanca will benefit next week from significant security reinforcements from several Moroccan cities, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
According to the same statement, this redeployment of law enforcement, led by the DGSN, aims to conduct targeted sweeping campaigns to fight crime.
To this end, the breeding grounds for crime as well as the black spots of the city will be more attacked in order to secure areas that have recently experienced attacks called "tcharmil".
In addition to these security actions, all the units of the Wilaya of the Casablanca Security will participate in this campaign, led by the Judicial Police services, the police precincts, the special units and the Motorcycle Brigade, the same source said.
The daily Al Massae reveals that a security plan is planned to ensure a rational and permanent police presence on public roads.
The objective, according to the same source, is to cover all areas of the city, thus allowing proximity to citizens and visitors while ensuring speed and efficiency in interventions, if necessary.
In this regard, a well-crafted plan will be implemented to proceed with the arrest of the largest number of people wanted by the police.
