Mother and Son Arrested in Morocco for Kidnapping Teen in Financial Dispute
A woman with a criminal record and her 19-year-old son were brought before the competent prosecutor’s office by the Provincial Judicial Police Service of the city of Salé. They are accused of being involved in a case of kidnapping, sequestration and theft.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates that the woman in question "had a financial transaction with the victim’s father".
The statement adds that "the defendant deliberately broke into her home, sequestering her 14-year-old daughter and asking her to pay the sums of money that she claims to be in her possession".
According to the investigation, it turned out that the son of the accused was also an accomplice in these criminal acts, hence his arrest at the same time as his mother. On the other hand, the victim was found without any trace of physical aggression and in good health, the statement said.
While the investigations continue to arrest two other individuals also suspected of being accomplices in this case, the woman and her son were placed in custody, at the disposal of the judicial investigation in order to bring them before the competent prosecutor’s office, the same source specifies.
