Moroccan Man Arrested in Safi for Alleged Murder of Wife in Front of Children

A 24-year-old man, suspected of having killed his wife, was arrested in Safi, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
This family tragedy, which occurred at the couple’s home and in front of their three children, sparked a wave of outrage in the city.
According to the same source, the security services found, in the early hours of the day, the body of the victim, aged 24, inside the marital home, bearing apparent signs of violence with "a cutting tool".
The suspected husband then presented himself on his own to the police station and the weapon used in the attack was seized.
The press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) further specifies that an investigation was immediately opened by the Prefectural Service of the Judicial Police of Safi in order to elucidate the circumstances of the tragedy and the degree of involvement of the alleged knife murderer.
Pending the continuation of the investigation, the victim’s body was transferred to the morgue for an autopsy. As for the suspect, he was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation in order to determine all the circumstances surrounding this case, the press release adds.
