Late Spring Snowfall Hits Morocco’s Atlas Mountains as Temperatures Drop

As spring begins this Friday, March 20, Morocco will experience heavy snowfall, mainly in the Atlas mountains.
According to forecasts from the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN), there are expected to be snowfall in places, on the Atlas mountains, above 2,000 m.
In terms of temperature, this morning we expect -1 to 6 degrees on the Atlas reliefs, 6 to 12 degrees on the Oriental, the Rif, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus and the southeastern slopes and 12 to 18 degrees on the Mediterranean, the Tangier region, the Saiss, the northern and central plains, the Souss, the southeast and the southern provinces.
This afternoon, temperatures will range from 6 to 13 degrees on the Atlas reliefs, the Rif and the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, 13 to 21 degrees on the Oriental, the Mediterranean, the Tangier region, the Saiss, the northern and central plains, the southeastern slopes and near the coasts, and 21 to 30 degrees on the Souss, the southeast and the southern provinces.
