Lacoste Faces Boycott Calls Over Controversial Morocco Map on Polo Shirts

Lacoste has recently released a new collection of polo shirts with a map of Morocco amputated of its Sahara, sparking a lively controversy on social networks.
The French clothing brand has put on sale the new polos from its "Worldwide Lacoste" collection featuring a map of Morocco without its Sahara. Moroccan Internet users reacted vehemently to this latest blunder by Lacoste, denouncing an attack on the territorial integrity of the kingdom.
Highly upset, Moroccans have launched a call to boycott the French brand. They have also asked Lacoste to withdraw its controversial polos from distribution channels.
Lacoste is not at its first attempt. In 2023, the clothing brand had put on sale a polo shirt bearing a map of Morocco without its Sahara. Voices had then risen to demand the withdrawal of this polo from sale.
The leaders of Lacoste had expressed their regrets following this "unintentional incident", had assured Riyad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, questioned on this subject by parliament. Will the brand again invoke an "unintentional incident" to justify this new blunder?
