Carrefour Ad Sparks Outrage in Morocco Over Western Sahara Map

A recent advertising campaign by Carrefour Qatar has provoked a strong reaction in Morocco, particularly on social media.
At issue is a map of Africa displaying the "Polisario flag" on Moroccan Sahara territory. Broadcast as part of the promotion of African products in Qatar, this publication quickly inflamed Moroccan social networks.
Many Internet users denounced a "provocative and irresponsible" act on the part of the French retailer, which nevertheless has many stores in Morocco. This presence of Carrefour on Moroccan soil has only amplified the feeling of betrayal among some consumers, and some have even called for a boycott of the brand in Morocco.
