King Mohammed VI Returns to Morocco Ahead of US Secretary of State Visit

King Mohammed VI is expected to return to Morocco in the coming hours after a several-day stay in Gabon and a stopover in Côte d’Ivoire.
The return of the Moroccan Sovereign coincides with the two-day visit of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday in the kingdom, reports Akhbarona.
The first visit of a senior US official to Morocco since the inauguration of the new US President Donald Trump, Pompeo’s trip is an opportunity to confirm the strong dynamic characterizing bilateral relations as well as the willingness to further strengthen the strategic partnership linking Washington and Rabat.
During his stay in Morocco which should last until December 5, the US Secretary of State will be received in audience by King Mohammed VI, according to statements by a senior US official.
