King Mohammed VI to Inaugurate Delayed Marrakech Development Projects

King Mohammed VI is expected to inaugurate projects in the Mhamid district in Marrakech this week. As part of the "Marrakech, City of Permanent Renewal" project, the construction sites include sports, cultural and social facilities.
Several personalities from the city, including Wali Karim Kassi Lahlou, visited the various construction sites in the city on Sunday, December 5, to supervise the progress of the work and prepare for the Sovereign’s visit.
A dozen projects dedicated to the environment and human development were launched by the king in 2014 as part of this major project.
With a budget of 1.26 billion dirhams, the projects, originally scheduled for the end of 2017, have experienced significant delays, with some construction sites in the old medina still ongoing.
