King Mohammed VI Cuts Marrakech Visit Short Over Project Delays

The royal visit to Marrakech would have been shortened, due to the delay recorded on major projects as part of the "Marrakech, city of permanent renewal" program.
Indeed, according to the daily Al Ahdath al Maghribia, King Mohammed VI left the ochre city last Friday, heading for the capital, after canceling several inauguration ceremonies scheduled during his stay in Marrakech.
Very angry with the local officials in charge of the city’s management, the Sovereign was upset by the delays and failures that marked the development work on the many projects underway.
The newspaper adds that the royal anger, likely to cause an earthquake at the administrative level of the city, stems from the mismanagement of the projects initiated as part of the "Marrakech, city of permanent renewal" program.
In fact, the various construction sites could experience delays and failures likely to abort the entire program, if the necessary measures are not taken in time, writes the newspaper.
