King Mohammed VI Grants Royal Pardon to Over 500 Prisoners on National Holiday

"On the occasion of the commemoration of the Revolution of the King and the People this year 1444 H-2022 G, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God perpetuate His glory, has been pleased to grant His pardon to a group of persons convicted by various courts of the Kingdom," says a statement from the Ministry of Justice. Here are the details:

"* The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are in detention number 433 inmates, distributed as follows:

• Pardon on the remainder of the prison or criminal sentence for 12 inmates.
• Remission of the prison or criminal sentence for 419 inmates.
• Commutation of the life sentence to a fixed-term sentence for 02 inmates.

* The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are at liberty number 109 persons, distributed as follows:

• Pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder for 37 persons.
• Pardon on the prison sentence with maintenance of the fine for 04 persons.
• Pardon on the fine sentence for 63 persons.
• Pardon on the prison and fine sentence for 05 persons."
