King Mohammed VI Pardons Over 1,400 Prisoners for Eid Al Adha in Morocco

On the occasion of Eid Al Adha, celebrated this Thursday, June 29 in Morocco, King Mohammed VI granted a pardon to 1,434 people convicted by various courts in the Kingdom.
Here are the details as indicated by the Ministry of Justice in a press release.
The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are in detention number 1,189 inmates, distributed as follows:
• Pardon on the remainder of the prison or criminal sentence in favor of 171 detainees.
• Remission of the prison or criminal sentence in favor of 1,012 detainees.
• Commutation of the life sentence to a fixed-term sentence in favor of 6 detainees.
The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are at liberty number 245 people, distributed as follows:
• Pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder in favor of 86 people.
• Pardon on the prison sentence with maintenance of the fine in favor of 19 people.
• Pardon on the fine sentence in favor of 136 people.
• Pardon on the prison and fine sentence in favor of 3 people.
• Pardon on the fine sentence and the remainder of imprisonment in favor of 1 person.
