King Mohammed VI Celebrates 60th Birthday During Northern Morocco Coastal Vacation

This year, King Mohammed VI has traveled to northern Morocco to spend his summer vacation. He took the opportunity to celebrate his 60th birthday on the Mediterranean coast.
The royal residence of Rincón (the corner in Spanish), a small town of 60,000 inhabitants known in Arabic as M’diq, on the northern coast, in the Tangier-Tetouan region, will be the first stage of King Mohammed VI’s summer vacation. Since the end of June, the sovereign has moved into this residence, reports the website Vanitatis in an article titled "The sweet idleness of Mohammed VI for his 60th birthday on the Mediterranean coast." He then headed to Al Hoceima, 250 km further east. The heir apparent Moulay Hassan and Princess Lalla Khadija attended the celebration of their father’s 60th birthday.
"The sovereign has made a habit of spending all his summers, from July 1st until August, in the north. In Tangier, of course, but also in Tetouan, M’diq or Al Hoceima," explains Jeune Afrique. It is also at the Marchane Palace in Tangier or the royal palace of Tetouan - listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site - [...] that he celebrated his 20 years of reign in 2019." The website El Faro de Ceuta published a photo showing King Mohammed VI aboard a convertible. One of his hobbies is to board his boat and sail on the Mediterranean. "Already the owner of an old schooner, El Boughaz I, refurbished and 62 meters long, the sovereign uses the yacht Al Lusia, which Tamim Ben Hamad al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, lent him in August 2018," continues Jeune Afrique. Since March 2019, the king has owned a 70-meter sailing yacht.
