Juventus Defender Mehdi Benatia Transfers to Qatar’s Al-Duhail for €10 Million

Moroccan international Mehdi Benatia has just joined the Qatari club Al-Duhail (Lekhwiya), putting an end to discussions dating back several weeks with Juventus.
The Franco-Moroccan player is leaving the Italian club for 8 million euros plus 2 million in bonuses, Juventus announced on its website.
At the age of 31, he had been with the Italian club for nearly two and a half years, with which he won the Cup-Championship and an Italian Super Cup, but since the beginning of this season, he has lost a lot of playing time following the arrival of Leonardo Bonucci.
Aware of his poor form, he had declined the calls of Atlas Lions coach Hervé Renard, claiming he wanted to give the younger players a chance.
On site, Medhi Benatia will find another Moroccan, Youssef El Arabi, who could in turn try his luck in the French championship.
