Japanese Auto Parts Giant JTEKT Opens $22 Million Steering System Factory in Morocco

The Japanese group, JTEKT corporation, inaugurated on Wednesday, October 9, a new production site for steering systems. A 220 million dirham investment spread over an area of more than 11,300 square meters and located within the Tanger Med industrial platform.
This factory will be entirely dedicated to the manufacture and sale of electric power steering systems and steering columns.
For its manager, it is considered the first of the Group taking into account JTEKT automotive Morocco and its subsidiary for the production of manual columns, Fuji autotech Morocco.
This production unit has big ambitions and is aiming for an annual capacity of 300,000 electric power steering systems and 700,000 manual columns for the Moroccan and European factories of international automakers. Among them, of course, Renault Tangier and Peugeot Kenitra.
