Japan tourist robbed under threat of bladed weapons in Morocco

A Japanese tourist thought he was photographing nature near the Oum Er-Rbia river, but he found himself surrounded under the threat of knives. Robbed on Saturday evening, the traveler saw his assailants arrested the very next day by the gendarmes, who recovered all of his equipment.

The incident occurred in the commune of Dar Ould Zidouh. The visitor, who had traveled by motorcycle to enjoy the scenery, was surprised at nightfall by three armed individuals. Faced with the danger, he was forced to hand over his photography equipment to the wrongdoers.

The reaction of the security services was immediate. A large-scale sweep operation, supervised by the commander of the Fquih Ben Salah company, led to the arrest of the three suspects on Sunday, November 30. Among them was a minor, who was prosecuted at large, and an individual already known for his criminal record. The two adults were taken into custody for the needs of the investigation, while the stolen items were returned to the victim.
