Deadly Clash Erupts as Mob Storms Moroccan Gendarmerie Base
The elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Leqliaa had to use their service weapons to repel an attack carried out on Wednesday by groups of individuals against their premises in order to seize weapons and ammunition.
Several people were injured by gunfire during this attack and attempted assault. Two of them eventually succumbed to their injuries, according to sources, specifying that these individuals threw stones against the premises of the territorial brigade of the Royal Gendarmerie. At first, the gendarmes used tear gas to repel this attack.
The assailants carried out a tactical withdrawal and then attacked the premises of the brigade again, armed with bladed weapons, managing to break in and burn a vehicle, and seize four motorcycles from the Royal Gendarmerie. They then tried to steal ammunition, equipment and service weapons from the Gendarmerie.
Faced with this new attack, the gendarmes were forced to use their service weapons, in self-defense. An investigation has been opened to determine the ins and outs of this attack and to identify and arrest all the people involved in these criminal acts.
