Moroccan Gendarmerie Busts Drug Ring: Seizes ’Poor Man’s Cocaine’, Fake Plates

Members of the Royal Gendarmerie from Had Soualem, in the province of Berrechid, recently succeeded in dismantling a criminal gang specializing in trafficking and selling "L’boufa" that used foreign license plates, and in arresting two members of the network.
The dismantling of this network occurred during a large-scale operation conducted by members of the Royal Gendarmerie from Had Soualem in the region. The two individuals arrested are aged 22 to 26. They have criminal records in drug trafficking. During the search of the light vehicle they were driving, the gendarmes discovered a significant quantity of drugs commonly known as the "poor man’s cocaine," intended for sale.
They proceeded to seize falsified license plates that the gang used to evade detection. The gendarmes also seized a large quantity of ’L’boufa’, as well as various sizes of bladed weapons. The suspects allegedly used these weapons "to attack law enforcement officers who would stand in their way or to intimidate rival criminal organizations in the context of territorial wars," reports Assabah.
While awaiting the identification of all the activities and connections of this criminal gang, determining the origin of the drugs and falsified plates, and arresting other accomplices, the suspects have been placed in custody.
