Mountain Road Tragedy: 5 Dead, 5 Injured in Moroccan Ravine Plunge
Five people were killed in a serious accident that occurred this Saturday on the regional road connecting Ghessat to Demnate, in the province of Ouarzazate. Five others were seriously injured.
The tragedy occurred at the level of the douar El Hwanet, under the commune of Ghessat. The accident occurred after a vehicle carrying several passengers left the road in a dangerous bend to end up in a ravine, in a mountainous area. The violent impact cost the lives of five passengers. Five others were seriously injured.
The civil protection and Royal Gendarmerie teams quickly rushed to the scene to transfer the deceased victims to the morgue and the injured to the Sidi Hssain Ben Nacer provincial hospital in Ouarzazate. The wali of the region went to the hospital to ensure that the injured were properly cared for by the medical teams.
