Ivorian Immigrants in Morocco Face Challenges with Residency, Jobs, and Discrimination

In Morocco, Ivorians face difficulties related to the acquisition of the residence card, lack of employment and racism.
Ivorians are not doing well in Morocco. This is at least what an Ivorian national contacted in Rabat by the local site KOACI has confessed.
According to the latter, Morocco is not the Eldorado dreamed of by many young Ivorians. Among the difficulties encountered by Ivorians, A.D. first mentions the acquisition of the residence card.
"If you don’t have this document, life is difficult," he said, adding that without this card, the Ivorian Embassy refuses to issue them a consular card.
The lack of employment and especially the racism observed in some Moroccans would also be the daily lot of Ivorians residing in Morocco. To get by, "Ivorian women mostly work in the hairdressing profession and engage in prostitution in order to meet their needs," said A.D.
