Six Ivorians Arrested at Casablanca Airport for Smuggling Cannabis in Digestive Tracts

The security services operating at Mohammed V airport proceeded, on Wednesday, February 12, to the arrest of six Ivorian nationals, aged between 27 and 43, who were about to board a flight to Tunis Carthage airport. They were transporting 4.75 kilograms of cannabis resin (chira).
This quantity of 4.75 kilograms of chira, divided into 795 capsules, was extracted from the intestines of six Ivorians, at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center (CHU), according to the security services of Mohammed V International Airport.
The control operations, by X-rays, revealed the presence of capsules inside their stomachs and intestines; which required placing them under medical supervision in the hospital in order to empty these substances, specifies the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), in a press release.
Pending the determination of the other persons involved in these criminal acts, and the possible links of this case with international drug trafficking networks, outside the kingdom, the accused have been taken into custody.
