Israeli Participation in Moroccan Youth Forum Sparks Controversy Amid Gaza Crisis

Israelis will take part in the Mediterranean Young Leaders Forum, to be held from November 15 to 17 in Essaouira, despite popular protests and attempts to block their participation.
While the industrial sector in Gaza is on the verge of collapsing, Israelis will participate for the first time in the Mediterranean Young Leaders Forum. This Forum is in its fifth edition.
But this Israeli participation does not receive the approval of everyone. The reason is that there are no bilateral relations between Morocco and Israel. Furthermore, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Morocco movement considers Israeli participation as "blatant normalization and an attempt to present the occupying state as a normal member participating in a forum in Morocco". Similarly, the BDS Morocco collective has called on young Moroccans to boycott the event.
It was following a call from France to Tel Aviv towards French-speaking Israelis that Israel mobilized to participate in the Forum.
