Israeli PM Lapid Plans Morocco Visit to Mark Abraham Accords Anniversary

Official visits by Israeli officials to Morocco are succeeding one another. Yair Lapid, the Israeli Prime Minister, should soon visit the kingdom on the occasion of the second anniversary of the signing of the Abraham Accords.
Yair Lapid, the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, is considering visiting Morocco before the elections and chairing a conference between the heads of state who have signed peace agreements with Israel, at a summit to be held in one of the countries that have signed the agreements, reports Israel Hayom. This conference is part of the celebration of the second anniversary of the Abraham Accords signed between Israel and four Arab countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco. The conference will be different from the Negev Summit organized by Tel Aviv last July, which brought together the Foreign Ministers, it is specified.

If this visit were to be confirmed, it would be Yair Lapid’s first official visit to Morocco as Israeli Prime Minister. Before July 1, 2022, he was the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of Naftali Bennett. His first official visit to Morocco dates back to August 2021.
