Israel Sees Spike in Covid Cases as Morocco Travelers Show High Infection Rate

Travelers from Morocco have the highest infection rate in Israel. More than 7% of them tested positive for Covid-19.
Since late May, foreign tourists have been allowed to enter and leave Israel freely, without the obligation to present proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test. This measure has led to a surge in cases of contamination. The Israeli Ministry of Health is indeed concerned about the increase in cases of contamination among travelers arriving on its territory, reports Israel Hayom. In total, 926 new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Sunday, June 19, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
Travelers from Morocco have the highest positivity rate. 100 out of 1,365 who entered Israeli territory tested positive for Covid-19, or more than 7%. Travelers from Portugal and Spain have contamination rates of 6.87% and 5.83% respectively.
