Israel-Morocco Trade Surges 40% as Arab-Israeli Commerce Booms

The normalization agreements signed between Israel and four Arab countries, including Morocco, are fueling the explosion of trade exchanges. This is evidenced by data from the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics.
Trade between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco has jumped by 234% during the first seven months of the current year, according to data from the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics. These figures do not include tourism or services, notes the Israel-Switzerland group. The volume of transactions between Morocco and Israel has increased from $14.9 million to $20.8 million.
Commercial transactions with Jordan and Egypt have also increased, from $136.2 million to $224.2 million and from $92 million to $122.4 million respectively. Trade with Bahrain, which did not have a trade relationship with Israel, amounted to $300,000. As for the volume of transactions with the United Arab Emirates, it has increased from $50.8 million between January and July 2020 to $613.9 million during the same period in 2021.
