Israel Lifts Decade-Long Travel Warning for Morocco, Boosting Diplomatic Ties

Israel has just lifted the travel warning for Israeli travelers wishing to go to Morocco, thus strengthening its relations with the kingdom. This warning had been in place for 10 years.

Good news for Israelis and Israeli and Moroccan airlines. The Israeli National Security Council removed the travel warning to Morocco on Monday, October 25, nearly a year after the normalization of diplomatic relations between Rabat and Tel Aviv, reports Challenge. This decision follows a reassessment by Israeli security officials. They found that the level of threat in the kingdom has decreased. However, the National Security Council recommended that Israelis be vigilant about their environment/surroundings during their visit to Morocco.

This warning dates back 10 years. At the time, Rabat and Jerusalem maintained low-level ties, with economic liaison offices that were suspended during the second Intifada. The reopening of these offices was effective this year. These offices were later transformed into embassies.
