Islamic NGO BarakaCity to Sue Société Générale for Withholding Donations

The NGO BarakaCity is preparing to file a complaint against Société Générale for theft and fraud.
The president of the NGO dissolved by the Council of Ministers last October is determined to prevail. In a message posted on the association’s page, he announced that he wants "to use all other legal means to ensure that all donations are transferred, in accordance with its legal status, to its new headquarters".
According to the association, the French bank closed its bank account without an official letter or notice. It also "retained" half a million euros from the association’s donations while it had ordered fund transfers to certain branches to complete ongoing projects.
The French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, announced on Twitter the dissolution by the Council of Ministers, on Wednesday, October 28, of the NGO BarakaCity. This decision had come a few days after the assassination of a history and geography teacher.
