Investigation Launched into Lalla Maimouna COVID-19 Outbreak: Officials Questioned

The Attorney General of the King has taken up the case and opened an investigation into the Lalla Mimouna cluster, entrusted to a specialized brigade to question caids, auxiliaries and factory directors.
This investigation aims to determine the responsibilities in the spread of infection hotspots in Lalla Maimouna. Nearly 70 people, including local executives from several ministries as well as officials from three strawberry packing plants, have already been questioned, notes the daily Assabah.
In addition to these executives, other witnesses and several workers as well as local authorities have also been heard under tents set up for the occasion around the gendarmerie center of Lalla Maimouna.
According to the same daily, the conclusions of the preliminary investigations of the judicial brigade will first be submitted to the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Kenitra. It will be up to him to lay charges, if any, before transmitting the files to the investigating judge. This judicial authority, after a thorough investigation, will confirm or deny the responsibility of the various parties in the non-compliance with the containment measures.
After several days of hospitalization, the victims of this infection hotspot are already leaving the field hospital. As for the new contact cases, they have decreased in the region as well as some isolated cases in Sidi Slimane and Sidi Kacem.
