Intoxicated Moroccan Expat Arrested in Casablanca for Gun Threats

A Moroccan residing abroad (MRE) was arrested at his home in Hay Chrifa, Casablanca, by the Aïn Chock police services, for threatening his friends with a firearm.

A verbal altercation with 4 other people was about to turn into a tragedy when the thirtysomething man pulled out a small-caliber firearm and threatened to kill them. In a state of intoxication, the MRE had come to blows with his accomplices before the scene escalated.

The incident alerted the police services, who went to the scene and took the five suspects to the Aïn Chock police station. A preliminary investigation into the possession of firearms has been opened in parallel.

The suspect was placed in custody, at the disposal of the investigation led under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to determine the circumstances of this case.
