Interpol Fugitive Arrested in Spain: Moroccan Drug Trafficking Suspect Caught

The Mossos d’Esquadra and the Spanish National Police arrested in Salt (Girona) a "dangerous" Moroccan criminal, wanted by the Moroccan authorities for drug trafficking, document forgery and membership in a criminal organization.
On the run since 2021, the criminal, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol, was arrested on May 8 by agents who located him in a hotel in Salt (Girona), reports NIUS.
The fugitive was in charge of organizing the transport of drugs from Morocco to Spain on behalf of a major drug trafficking network of which he is a member. He used false papers to hide his irregular situation in Spain and avoid being caught by the police.
After his arrest, the criminal was made available to the competent judge who ordered his pre-trial detention, pending his extradition to Morocco.
