Belgian-Moroccan Fugitive Arrested in Spain for Drug Trafficking and Weapons Charges

The Spanish police arrested in Tarifa (Cádiz) a Belgian of Moroccan origin wanted by the Belgian authorities for belonging to a criminal organization, drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.
The criminal, who was the subject of a European arrest warrant issued by the Court of First Instance in Brussels, was arrested at the maritime border post in Tarifa as he was trying to enter Spain from Morocco, reports El Debate Andalucia.
The defendant is wanted by the Belgian judicial authorities for belonging to a criminal network, trafficking in drugs such as marijuana, heroin and cocaine in Anderlecht, and illegal possession of firearms. The defendant faces a sentence of up to 15 years in prison for these three crimes.
After the usual formalities and the filing of the police report, the Belgian of Moroccan origin was made available to the National Court of Madrid, competent to initiate the extradition proceedings.
