Inmate Dies in Suicide Attempt at Dakhla Prison, Officials Report

In a statement, the prison administration in Dakhla said the inmate used a rope made from his clothes and blanket to hang himself from the bars of the window in his cell. He died in the ambulance that was transporting him to the hospital.

According to the same source, the victim suffered from mental and psychological disorders and was taking prescribed medications. His family and the competent prosecutor’s office were informed of his death.
