Imam and Muezzin Brawl Over Water Bottles in Moroccan Mosque During Ramadan
An unusual scene took place in a mosque in Khenifra, in the middle of the month of Ramadan. A dispute broke out between the imam and the muezzin, leaving the faithful present incredulous. The subject of the dispute? Bottles of mineral water.
These bottles had been offered by a donor to the faithful for the breaking of the fast. Local sources indicate that the imam would have wished to take a part of them to his home.
The muezzin opposed this initiative. The initial disagreement quickly degenerated into a physical confrontation between the two men.
Following this altercation, the muezzin was taken to the emergency room of the regional hospital of Khenifra to receive care.
