Illegal Immigrant Arrested in Rabat for Alcohol Smuggling and Human Trafficking

A sub-Saharan national residing illegally in Morocco was arrested by the judicial police services in Rabat, following her involvement in the illicit trafficking of alcohol and illegal immigration. 396 liters of smuggled alcohol as well as several passports were seized on Saturday, May 18.
Aged 46, the sub-Saharan woman was illegally staying in a house in the Bouregreg district of Rabat, where she was busy selling alcoholic beverages without a license while participating in illegal immigration operations to Europe.
The prefectural service of the judicial police of Rabat proceeded to her arrest on Saturday, May 18, and managed to seize 396 liters of smuggled alcohol as well as several passports of sub-Saharan nationals.
She was taken into custody, pending the completion of the investigation supervised by the public prosecutor’s office, which will determine the ins and outs of this case, where the involvement of an international network cannot be ruled out.
