Iconic Moroccan Singer Mahmoud Idrissi Dies from COVID-19 at 72

The Moroccan music world is in mourning. The pioneering artist of Moroccan song, Mahmoud Idrissi, succumbed to coronavirus, this Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the age of 72.
The artist, Mahmoud Idrissi, who recently tested positive for Covid-19, was admitted to a clinic in Casablanca at the beginning of the week. Suffering from diabetes, his health condition deteriorated during the week and he did not survive the respiratory complications, it is specified. The artist mourned by all of Morocco is an icon who has marked several generations with a rich and varied repertoire.
In the 1970s, Mahmoud Idrissi had worked at the national radio, after successfully passing a singing test in front of the legendary Ahmed Bidaoui. His last appearance on national television dates back to November 6, 2020, during the festivities of the Green March. He was the guest of the Rachid Show program on 2M.
