Historic record of car sales in Morocco, the Chinese brands are booming

The Moroccan automotive sector is experiencing an exceptional year. For the first time in its history, the new vehicle market has crossed the symbolic threshold of 200,000 units sold even before the end of the fiscal year. According to figures from the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM), the overall volume reached 208,018 units at the end of November 2025, marking a spectacular increase of 35.27% compared to the same period last year.

This momentum is driven by strong demand in both the private and commercial vehicle segments. The month of November confirmed this trend with an overall increase of 36.50%. Passenger cars jumped by nearly 38%, while light commercial vehicles recorded growth of over 26%.

In the ranking of manufacturers, Dacia retains its throne with more than 43,000 sales and a market share of 23.35%. However, the competition is intensifying. Renault made a significant breakthrough with a growth of 57.64%, reducing the gap with the leader thanks to its 32,000 registrations. Other historical players such as Peugeot, Hyundai and Volkswagen also posted very positive results.

The other notable fact of this vintage 2025 is the rise of Chinese brands. BYD is leading this offensive, followed by solid performances from Changan and Great Wall, confirming the growing appeal of these new entrants.

On the commercial vehicle side, the battle is fierce. While Renault remains in the lead, Fiat has made a dazzling breakthrough with a 142% increase in its volumes, now closely following the diamond brand. Finally, in the premium segment, Audi maintains its leadership by a narrow margin over BMW, which is showing stronger growth and is dangerously approaching the top spot.
