Historic First: Woman Appointed President of Moroccan Professional Soccer Club

Nawal Khalifa has been appointed president of the football section of the Fath Union Sport (FUS) of Rabat, the FUS Omnisports executive board has just announced. A surprising appointment that makes Nawal Khalifa the first woman in history to lead a professional club in Morocco.
A woman at the head of the football section of the FUS of Rabat. Even if it is a major change, Nawal Khalifa, director of the finance department at the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water, knows the field well since in the past she was part of the executive board of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. She has also held many positions within the Fath Union Sport, under the presidency of Fassi-Fihri and El Hajoui. So she is not in unknown territory.
Nawal Khalifa was appointed for her skills and because she has the necessary abilities to give new momentum to the football section, in order to make it more competitive next season and in the years to come. This involves recruiting and training young people for the emergence of talent, according to Mounir El Majidi, the president of the FUS Omnisports executive board.
