Hirak Activist’s Pardon Confusion: El Mortada Iamrachen Still Imprisoned Despite Reports

While we (also) wrote that El Mortada Iamrachen had benefited from the royal pardon on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, it turned out that this information was false. And it is a strange affair, given the sources of this information. Namely, among others, lawyers close to the case...
The only question that comes to mind when you learn that a person declared by sources close to his case as benefiting from a royal pardon did not actually benefit from it is: What happened? A stratagem? His name was removed? Was he supposed to be there but was removed? What the devil happened?
Le Desk, who has long defended Iamrachen, writes: "The information had originally been given on social networks by lawyers close to the Hirak activists, then by members of El Mortada’s family, themselves informed by judicial sources in contact with the case."
And that’s not all, the same media says it "took care to question these sources upstream to assess their credibility, and to cross-check their statements with others, this time official ones. The reliability of the news could no longer be compromised at this stage. Yet it turned out to be false." In other words, someone (or more) informed that he had benefited from the pardon and then poof! Nothing more! A hoax? Where does the false news come from and why? It’s really incomprehensible...
It should be noted that Mortada Iamrachen was sentenced (for apology for terrorism) in November 2017 to 5 years in prison, a sentence upheld on appeal in November 2018.
