Morocco’s King Considers Pardoning Hirak Protesters Ahead of Eid Al Adha

The detainees of the Hirak of the Rif, but also those of Jerada, could soon be pardoned by King Mohammed VI. This is at least the wish of several politicians, including Mustapha Ramid.
On his Facebook page, the State Minister went on to comment to react to the royal pardon granted to several detainees of the Hirak of Al Hoceima and Jerada, expressing the wish of the same initiative for the next Eid Al Adha holiday, scheduled for next August. "It is the Moroccan wisdom that intervenes from time to time at the right time. In all affairs, whether political or related to social tensions, the king manages to make the appropriate decision," writes the one who is also a lawyer.
For Ramid, whose words were translated by the telquel.ma website, the Al Hoceima file is resolved "in stages". "I hope that everyone will be aware of the need to bring together all the conditions to benefit from the royal pardon soon," he writes, hoping that the conditions "will be met in the near future so that the royal pardon applies to everyone, inshallah, including the leaders." Without citing him, Ramid refers to the very thorny case of Nasser Zefzafi.
This is not the first politician in recent days to have called for a royal pardon for the Hirak detainees. Former minister Nabil Benabdallah, who welcomed the fact that detainees were pardoned during the Eid Al Fitr holiday, says he hopes for a "blessed initiative" for the other activists of this movement that shook Morocco for several months.
