High-Speed Train Fatally Strikes Man on Tracks Near Casablanca

A man was fatally struck between Skhirat and Temara. The victim deliberately entered the railway right-of-way and placed himself on the track, according to the National Railway Office (ONCF).
In an online statement, the National Railway Office explained that this train, which was to travel from Casablanca to Tangier, was then immobilized on the tracks.
Two other similar accidents occurred, on Saturday, June 27 between Tangier-Ville and Aqouass Briech and on Sunday, July 19 between Bouskoura and Nouasseur. While the first one caused the death of a man who had "voluntarily placed himself on the track", the second one, which occurred following the skidding of a heavy vehicle on the highway, did not cause any victims.
Another fatal TGV accident was also recorded on Saturday, July 4, on the line connecting Casablanca to Kenitra.
