High-Speed Car Crash Derails Tram in Casablanca, Causing Significant Damage

A motorist driving at very high speed hit, on Tuesday, September 3, in Casablanca, a tram on the T2 line in the Prefecture of Aïn Sebaâ. Significant material damage was recorded.
More scared than hurt. A motorist driving at full speed lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons and went to hit a T2 line tram at the level of the Prefecture of Aïn Sebaâ, according to a press release from RATP DEV, the company in charge of operating the public transport network in the metropolis.
As a result, the tram derailed for about fifteen meters, the same source specifies. After the intervention of the maintenance teams of the company, significant material damage was recorded. And traffic resumed normally around 9 a.m.
To prevent such a situation from occurring again, RATP DEV called on all users, pedestrians and motorists to respect the Highway Code, as it ensures the safety of all.
