Hervé Renard Emerges as Top Candidate for Marseille Manager Position

Former Morocco coach Hervé Renard could bounce back at Olympique de Marseille after the resignation of the Phocaeans’ coach. If the information is confirmed, the current coach of Saudi Arabia would have another experience in Ligue 1.
The current OM coach, André Villas-Boas, is on his way out, and Hervé Renard’s name is said to be on the Marseille president’s list to succeed the Portuguese technician.
Hervé Renard, before trying the adventure of Morocco, had taken over the reins of the Sochaux team in 2013, after the departure of Éric Hély for poor results. The French coach failed to keep the club in Ligue 1, but he had the merit of waking up the team thanks to the results that allowed him to finish 5th in the second half of the championship.
Unfortunately, his experience with the first league clubs stopped at Lille, where he was dismissed six months later for lack of results.
Pending the recruitment of a new coach, Andoni Zubizarreta has been officially appointed as the sports director of the Marseille club.
