Heavy Rains Wreak Havoc on Northern Morocco’s Road Network

Rainfall, landslides, landslides, rock falls, the damage caused by the bad weather has modified the road axes in northern Morocco. Furthermore, landslides and rock falls also make impassable roads that are already difficult due to their winding layout. Questioned by deputies following the closure of road 16 connecting Al Hoceima to El Jebeha, the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, explained that landslides are frequent on the Mediterranean beltway, due to bad weather and temperature variations.

Faced with these enormous difficulties, users are calling on the Ministry of Equipment and Water to conduct a thorough technical investigation to understand the causes of this fragility of the roads, which deteriorate with each rainy episode and to determine any negligence by those responsible and companies.
