Healthcare Workers Fighting COVID-19 Abruptly Evicted from Hotel Accommodations

While they have agreed to live far from their families, about fifty doctors and nurses, requisitioned to care for coronavirus patients, have been dismissed without any notice from the hotel establishment where they were staying.
The managers of these hotel establishments have dismissed without notice these members of the healthcare staff engaged in the fight against covid-19, in the middle of confinement and without previously informing the competent authorities, reports the daily Assabah.
On the front line to stem the coronavirus pandemic, some doctors and nurses have left the remote areas of the kingdom to take up service in Casablanca. Without a secondary residence in the city, and without having been tested, they had no choice but to leave the premises with their belongings. Informed, the health authorities directed them to another hotel establishment, which also refused to accommodate them.
According to the same newspaper, these doctors and nurses have retreated to the hospital where they work, pending a solution. Desperate, they organized a protest sit-in in the evening to get the medical authorities to find a favorable outcome to their situation.
