Hamas Condemns Israeli Foreign Minister’s Historic Visit to Morocco

The Palestinian Hamas movement reacted to the historic visit of Yair Lapid, the Israeli Foreign Minister, to Morocco. It believes that this visit "embellishes the face of the Israeli occupation."
Hamas "expresses its total rejection of all forms of normalization with the Zionist entity [Israel, Ed.] at all levels, foremost among them Lapid’s visit to Morocco," said the spokesman for the Palestinian Islamist movement, Fawzi Barhoum, in a statement. According to him, this visit by the Israeli foreign minister "has serious repercussions on the Palestinian people and their just cause and embellishes the face of the Israeli occupation, especially in light of the increase in the crimes of the occupation and its daily violations."
Hamas calls "on the brothers of all Arab and Islamic countries to maintain their alliance with the Palestinian people, to support them and strengthen their steadfastness on their land, and to continue the policy of boycott and isolation of the entity that constitutes a threat to Palestine and the entire region."
Yair Lapid made a two-day working visit to Morocco on August 11 and 12, where he inaugurated the Israeli diplomatic mission in Rabat. The two parties also signed three new agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the political, cultural, youth and sports, and air services fields.
